Based on the graphs from my last post, I figured out that I’m pretty safe if a message has a score of less than -9.0. Since I was getting a new message in my checkSpam folder about 10 times an hour, that meant I had to give WAY more of my attention that I was happy with to noticing that new mails had come in.
The trick was this: as far as I can tell, procmail doesn’t support doing any kind of numerical comparisons. Spam headers from CRM114 come in looking like:
X-CRM114-Status: SPAM ( pR: -4.3243 )
which is great if you want to know if it thought something was spam, but not if you want to know how spammy it thought it was.
